Jack Handey picks your best Deep Thoughts
Comedian Jack Handey is most best known for his series of "Deep Thoughts" that aired on Saturday Night Live in the 1990s. He joined us for a conversation about his latest book "Stench of Honolulu" a few weeks ago. We had five copies of Jack's book to giveaway. Here are the five winners, as chosen by Jack Handey himself.
T.J. Mair from Edmonton: Death is like a box of chocolates -- a box of chocolates with no more chocolates in it.
Jeannette from Toronto: Some say that releasing a thousand live doves into her house while she slept was a bad idea, but I'm just a hopeless romantic.
Jodi Stapley from Calgary: Life is about the journey. Unless you're a pirate. Then the journey is just work.
Doug MacLean from Sydney, Nova Scotia: I blame the economy for my failed restaurant. Still, Papa bin Laden's Home of the Five-Second Rule had the best blood pudding in town.
A.J. Packman from Toronto: He followed the pattern of the sun: rise in the morning, just kinda hang around outside all day, then slowly hide behind something.
Congrats to all five winners! Your books are on their way. And thanks to everyone who tried our Deep Thoughts contest. If you missed the interview with Jack Handey you can listen here.
