Scott Vrooman's satirical run for Senate
Scott Vrooman isn't letting the entire Canadian political system stand in the way of his dreams. The writer and political satirist is running his very own campaign to be elected as a senator, despite the fact that the Senate is appointed.
Writer and comedian Scott Vrooman dreams of being a Senator and the expenses scandals or the Mike Duffy trial won't dissuade him from that dream. And neither will the Constitution. Because even though senators are appointed in Canada, he's running his own private election on his website, offering Canadians the chance to vote for him or one of three sitting senators: Colin Kenny, Linda Frum or Don Meredith.
