A Montreal comedian has responded to Quebec's controversial new values test for immigrants by creating her own version.

"True or false: Pure Laine is the Canada Goose brand in Quebec," Eman El-Husseini asks in one of her questions.

The test for immigrants who want to live permanently in the province came into effect Jan. 1.

It examines, among other things, would-be immigrants' beliefs on the equality of men and women.

The test is a key election promise from Quebec Premier François Legault, who assured voters he would protect the province's cultural identity by reducing the number of new immigrants.
