Investigating the Capitol insurrection

The armed insurrection in Washington, after Donald Trump lost the presidential election, shook many. This week, U.S. lawmakers heard from the police officers who tried to hold it at bay — as a committee pieces together what happened.

For police officers in the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, the armed riot of Donald Trump supporters was a matter of life or death. This week, a U.S. Congressional select committee heard from those officers, as they start to probe what exactly happened that day. CBC News senior correspondent Paul Hunter breaks it down for us.
