About Inappropriate Questions
Inappropriate Questions is a podcast that explores uncomfortable questions often asked to different communities. Whether it's "What are you?", "Can you have sex?", or "Have you lost weight?", the show explores what these questions imply, their social and historical contexts, and why people ask them.
Each episode, hosts Elena "millennial" Hudgins Lyle and Harvinder "just a dad" Wadhwa speak to guests and experts who've been on the receiving ends of these questions in a non-judgmental way. The hosts each bring different perspectives to these topics, and tons of dad jokes along the way.
The podcast is produced by Sabrina Bertsch, Cindy Long, and Elena Hudgins Lyle.
Elena pursued a BA in Media Production for their love of radio and ended up falling for podcasts and audio storytelling - hard. Since graduating from Ryerson University, Elena has worked as an associate producer on CBC's Podcast Playlist and for CBC Digital. Inappropriate Questions is their first hosting gig. Away from the mic, Elena loves writing songs and stories. In their downtime they enjoy books and bands, watching (or missing) the Leafs, and playing ancient Harry Potter computer games with their brother.
Harv is no longer a student, but considers himself a life-long learner. His degree in engineering and MBA have lead him to work in a cubicle for the past 20 years. He has a passion for human rights and equality (the financial kind too). In his spare time, he listens to podcasts, and spends time with his wife and two daughters.
PS: HE thinks he is funny!
Sabrina graduated from the RTA School of Media at Ryerson University with a BA in Media Production and a minor in News Studies. She fell into the world of animation and is currently working as a production coordinator at Guru Studio creating shows like True and the Rainbow Kingdom and Paw Patrol. She believes that spreadsheets, checklists, and colour coding are all keys to success. When not working, Sabrina is cheering for the Leafs and Blue Jays, watching the Bon Appétit YouTube channel, and solving crossword puzzles with her sister.
Cindy is a versatile creator with a love of editing and post-production. A graduate of the RTA Media Production program at Ryerson University, she has interned with companies such as Deluxe Toronto. She currently works as a video editor at RTR Media editing digital series for HGTV, and often freelances on short films, webseries, and music videos. As a queer woman of colour, she is passionate about creating diverse and inclusive content. In her spare time, she can be found playing various instruments, doing needlecrafts, and domesticating the squirrels in her backyard.
