Recently, I spent a couple of hours wandering the streets of Vancouver asking locals for insider tips on finding housing.

I met a lot of people who shared their strategies and successes. I met a lot more people who were terrified of having a stranger thrust a microphone in their face.

Both newcomers and long-time residents spoke to me about their love of Vancouver, but admitted that the search for a place in Rain City can be a stressful and desperate journey.
