Jim Cuddy and Henry Burris trade barbs ahead of this weekend's Juno Cup
For 14 years, the Junos have pitted athletes against musicians in the famously Canadian Juno Cup. It's a hockey game where ex-pro athletes compete against your favourite rockers all in the name of charity. All of the money raised will be donated to MusiCounts, a charity that supports music education across the country.
This year's captain of the music squad, Blue Rodeo frontman Jim Cuddy, and coach of the athletes team, recent Grey Cup winning quarterback Henry Burris, join host Tom Power to trade pre-game insults and strategies for this year's game.
Since its inception the musicians have only won a single time, and Cuddy isn't holding out much hope for a victory this year. "We'll consider it an enormous victory if we can stay within two goals. Now we cheat, we cheat in the skills competition.... Basically you're talking about thoroughbreds racing quarter-horses, old quarter-horses," he says.
