Andy Kim is a legendary Juno-winning Canadian songwriter. Known for writing and performing hits such as "Rock me Gently" and "Baby I Love You" in the late 1960s and '70s, the Montreal native remains just as relevant today.

Kim is set to receive the SOCAN Cultural Impact Award in Toronto at this year's SOCAN Awards for one of his most popular song, "Sugar, Sugar," which was originally an international hit for the Archies in 1969.

Despite that song being over 45 years old, Kim's career is still going strong. He is currently working on a followup album to his 2015 release, It's Decided, hosts a popular annual Christmas concert, and collaborates with present-day artists and admirers like Kevin Drew of Broken Social Scene.

Kim talks to Tom Power about his long and varied career and the recognition his music still receives.
