Arts writers John Semley and Tina Hassannia break down the biggest stories from last night's Canadian Screen Awards gala.
Every Monday the q screen panel convenes to look at the biggest stories happening in the film and television worlds. This week, arts writers John Semley and Tina Hassannia give us the scoop on the 2018 Canadian Screen Awards, which honour the best in Canadian film and television from the past year.
Last night's big winner was the Maud Lewis biopic, Maudie, which took home Best Picture as well as six other trophies. It was also a proud night for Indigenous stories: Secret Path, the story of Chanie Wenjack, as well as the music documentary Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World were both honoured.
