Rapper Little Simz journeys through fame and wonderland
British rapper Little Simz thought the music industry would be "a walk in the park" but that idea was quickly shattered.
Through the stress and loneliness of it all, though, comes her second full-length album, Stillness in Wonderland (out now). "It felt right, at the time I was making the record, to address and talk about these things," Simz says. "I'm not a person who opens up to people and I feel like music is my way of doing that."
Stillness in the World is a concept album that loosely follows the same narrative of Alice in Wonderland and while she sees parallels between herself and Alice, this story is very personal to her. She adds, "I wanted the listener to feel like they're immersed in a world."
Little Simz is currently touring in the U.S. — for a full list of dates, head over to her website.
