Oscars 2017: La La Land leads the nominees
The nominations for the 89th Academy Awards were announced this morning (Jan. 24). The Oscars will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel on Feb. 26 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, Calif.
La La Land, the musical starring Canadian actor Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, leads with 14 nominations. Gosling was nominated for best actor for his role as a jazz musician in the film. Arrival, directed by French Canadian filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, and Moonlight received eight nominations each, while Manchester by the Sea received six nominations.
