'It's a true tragedy': Kurt Russell on film Deepwater Horizon
On April 20, 2010 an explosion onboard a BP oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico triggered the worst oil spill in American history.
Many will remember the environmental devastation, which continues to make headlines today.
But what happened onboard?
Deepwater Horizon, a new film named after the aforementioned rig, hopes to capture some of the fear, confusion and conflict that took place behind the scenes.
Its star, Kurt Russell calls the film is a "true tragedy."
"[Drilling for oil] is an inherently dangerous thing," he says to guest host Candy Palmater in Studio q. "It's not easy getting that oil out of the ground and into your car."
