What really goes on between people making love? Arlene Heyman explores that question in her new short-story collection, Scary Old Sex — a raw look at the real sex lives of ordinary people.

At the age of 74, the psychoanalyst is being hailed as an exciting new literary voice. And her debut collection is drawing praise for its realistic and sometimes unromantic look at intimacy — skin tags and all.

Heyman joins guest host Gill Deacon to discuss her candid style, and why she felt compelled to tell tales from within other people's bedrooms.

"For me it's not really a choice. I get in close on everything," says Heyman.
