Mr. D's Gerry Dee teaches master class in incompetence
Gerry Dee joins us in the lead up to the season four premiere of Mr. D.
Mr. D star Gerry Dee joins guest host Candy Palmater to discuss his starring role as an incompetent yet overconfident high school teacher, and how exaggerated versions his real-life teaching experiences have seeped into the show.
The educator-turned-entertainer also reveals whether Mr. D's edgier material is edgy enough for him, and how his former colleagues react to being portrayed in a not-so-flattering light.
"There are a lot of teachers out there going 'I do that. Ohmygod, I can't believe you're telling people we do that,'" he says, adding that the profession -- like all others -- attracts the good, the bad, and the corrupt.
