Prolific Canadian playwright George F. Walker joins Shad to discuss his latest double-bill — The Bigger Issue and Parents Night — and the conflicts that play out between troubled parents and stressed out teachers. Walker, a parent himself, says he feels a lot of sympathy for those within the increasingly precarious profession.

Walker argues that teachers — and today's teachers especially — need narratives that speak to their struggles. He also speaks of the "little victories" that come with putting poorly-understood stories centre stage and how his working class background informs his work.
