How Rose Cousins travelled to create her new record Natural Conclusion
Rose Cousins has been reading a lot of biographies lately and she's finding one specific recurring theme very comforting to see: artists taking on their stress.
See, Cousins herself recently dealt with the "physical manifestation of stress," as she describes, and it dawned on her that she needed a break. "I took a month, I did the cleanse thing," she explains, of the lengthy process that has led to the completion of her latest album, Natural Conclusion. "That didn't fix how I was feeling in my head though, so I just kind of enlisted people to help me and it's been a slow thing to accept that maybe I do have those limits."
That break now only allowed for Cousins to physically, and eventually mentally, recuperate but it also spurred a new writing process that helped her create a brand new batch of songs.
Now she's looking back at those times with a new record in tow and a better way of viewing her stresses.
"At the end of the day, when I feel like I just can't possibly get to all the things that I'm supposed to have done that day, I realize that the world will, in fact, not implode," she says. "I'm trying to just remind myself that if anyone's going to have the most feelings about it, it's going to be me."
