Loretta Lynn's relationship with music comes 'Full Circle' with her new album
Full Circle, Loretta Lynn's first album since 2004's Van Lear Rose, shows off her talent for delivering deceptively straightforward music and lyrics that hit you right in the gut, and then linger.
She's always been known for speaking her mind — and better yet, singing it. Over the years, she's drawn from every aspect of her life, from her hard-scrabble childhood in Butcher Holler, Ky., to her volatile but loving marriage.
Full Circle delivers a selection of songs new and old that together speak volumes about the vital role music has played — and continues to play — in her remarkable life.
Coinciding with the album release is also a new documentary, Loretta Lynn: Still a Mountain Girl, which you can watch on CBC's documentary channel March 4 at 8 p.m. EST and 9 p.m PST, featuring fellow country music giants Reba McEntire, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood and more.
