Molly Ringwald returns to her first love
Actress-turned-jazz singer Molly Ringwald joins Jian during the only Canadian stop on her 'Except Sometimes' tour.
Molly Ringwald, the teen star of classics like Sixteen Candles and Pretty in Pink, has grown up and found her own voice as a multi-talented adult. Her budding career as a jazz singer has roots deeper than the acting that made her famous.
Long before Ringwald her reign as America's sweetheart in the 1980s, three-year-old Molly started performing with her father's jazz band. She was only six when she was recorded on an album.
Now, her recently released record, Except Sometimes, is her first collection of standards from the Great American Songbook. She joins Jian during the only Canadian stop on her tour to talk jazz specifically, creativity more generally, and the smörgåsbord of projects she's been part of since the Breakfast Club.
