David Suzuki is one of the most recognizable faces of Canada's environmental movement — but in recent years he's been focused on a future without him.

The scientist, activist and longtime host of The Nature of Things joins Shad to share his advice for his successors, particularly young people, as laid out in his new book Letters to my Grandchildren.

Suzuki also reflects on the massive impact (good and bad) that celebrities can play in the public conversation about science, why he defends Neil Young's involvement in oilsands protests, and why his foundation still has to "fight like mad" to get media coverage.
