Nile Rodgers of Chic pays tribute to New York's Greenwich Village in his q block party

To say that Nile Rodgers is one of the greatest guitarists working today wouldn't be an exaggeration. The band leader behind the legendary disco group Chic has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, won three Grammy awards, and worked with the likes of David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Christina Aguilera, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Daft Punk and many more.

Much of Rodgers' inspiration over the years has sprung out of the place where he grew up, New York's Greenwich Village. It's one of the world's most vibrant creative hubs — a place that Bob Dylan called home and where John Lennon famously wished he was born.

In this edition of the q block party, Rodgers pays tribute to Greenwich Village with a playlist of songs that inspired him to become the musician he is today.

Rodgers returns to Toronto on Monday, April 22 for a concert at the Scotiabank Arena.
