Bon Cop Bad Cop 2 aims its jokes at Americans this time around: 'We've got to return the favour'

In 2006, Bon Cop Bad Cop became one of the highest-grossing Canadian films ever made, bringing in $12 million at the box office in Canada. 

It was a rare crossover film that did well in both English and French-speaking Quebec, partly because of how well it poked fun at both of those cultures. 

Now, anglophone cop Martin Ward and francophone officer David Bouchard are back in Bon Cop Bad Cop 2. This time around, they're investigating a car theft ring that ends up leading them to a terrorist plot, and the jokes are more aimed at some clueless American authorities. 

"They make fun of us all the time," Huard says, of Americans. "We've got to return the favour."
