Joel Thomas Hynes wears many hats. The Newfoundland actor, writer and musician appeared in the Netflix historical drama Frontier. He's resuming his role as Dizzy in the upcoming season of the sci-fi hit Orphan Black. He recently wrapped a comedy Christmas movie for the CBC, while at the same time recording his first full-length rock album.

Somewhere in the midst of all that, Hynes also found time to write a novel titled We'll All be Burnt in Our Beds Some Night.

The story follows a man's desperate attempt to bounce back from a life of petty crime and broken relationships as he tries to forge a new life. In his latest work, Hynes is challenging our understanding of Canada by shedding light on the dark, underside of Canadian rural life.
