In 1998, the Cartoon Network introduced audiences to The Powerpuff Girls: three kid superheroes named Bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup who used their powers to save the world before bedtime.

Craig McCracken is the animator who brought The Powerpuff Girls to life. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of his hit animated series, he took us all the way back to doodle that started it all.

In this oral history, McCracken was also joined by the Canadian voice actress who plays Bubbles, Tara Strong, as well as Powerpuff Girls fan Dana Terrace, who was inspired by the series to become an animator and cartoonist herself.
