How classical music helped James Rhodes deal with dark times
In his new memoir, James Rhodes discusses the power and importance classical music had in helping him deal with a traumatic past.
Classical musician James Rhodes found his love for music at a very bleak and hostile time in his life.
It was a chance encounter with a Johann Sebastian Bach cassette tape that gave him a passion for music. "For the first time in my life I felt, 'This is what I want to do with the rest of my life,' and most importantly that with something like this in the world there is some beauty, there is some reason to keep going and have a little bit of hope," he tells Tom Power.
In his new memoir, he shares how music had the power to help him deal with his traumatic past and take back the power he lost.
