How appendicitis brought Said The Whale closer together on tour

Shortly after having his appendix removed, Tyler Bancroft and his bandmates from Said The Whale, Ben Worcester and Jaycelyn Brown, joined us to talk about their new album, Cascadia.

In the midst of their current tour for their brand new album Cascadia, the Vancouver-based band Said The Whale hit a bit of a snag. Their lead singer, Tyler Bancroft, was rushed to the hospital with intense abdominal pain and urgently needed his appendix removed.

Bancroft went into surgery in Vancouver on Feb. 19 and just four days later he was up on stage with his band in London, Ont., performing in a hospital gown. Just a few days after that, Said The Whale joined Tom Power in the q music studio to perform from their new record and share this unbelievable story.

Said The Whale wraps up their tour this week, performing in Peterborough tonight, Ottawa on Thursday and Montreal this Friday. Their new album Cascadia is out now.
