From Back to the Future to The Polar Express, Alan Silvestri reflects on his most famous film scores

Even if you don't know the name Alan Silvestri, you've most certainly heard his music. His scores for Back to the Future, Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Forrest Gump have made him one of the most sought after film composers in modern cinema.

For decades, he's been raising our blood pressure and tugging at our heart strings, more often than not, as one half of a killer creative partnership with director Robert Zemeckis. Now, just in time for the holidays, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra will be on stage performing the entire score from Silvestri and Zemeckis' iconic film The Polar Express.

Silvestri joined q's Tom Power to tell us more about the concert and his longtime collaboration with Zemeckis. The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra will perform the entire score to The Polar Express tonight.
