Sometimes a simple instrument can be a gateway to a lifelong career. That's the case for Aasiva, a Nunavut-based singer and musician who found herself falling in love with the ukulele. She's used that instrument to great effect on her self-titled debut album, a work that has been nominated for two Indigenous Music Awards this year.
