'No one could've predicted the phenomenon it became': Disney producer Peter Del Vecho on the success of Frozen
When Disney released Frozen back in 2013, it was an instant megahit: a film that transcends the movie theatre and becomes a bona fide pop culture phenomenon.
Six years later, the studio is looking to make lightning strike twice with the much-anticipated sequel, Frozen 2. Peter Del Vecho is the producer of both films, and the senior vice president of Disney Animation.
He joined q's Tom Power to talk about facing impossible expectations during the making of Frozen 2, and the enduring power of Disney magic in the age of distraction.
Frozen 2 opens in select theatres tomorrow, Nov. 21 and everywhere on Friday, Nov. 22.
