Quirks question: Could an alien spacecraft hide in the asteroid belt?
You ask the question, we find the answer.
This week's question comes from Quirks & Quarks twitter follower @RyanSauve who asked "With today's technology, could we detect a spaceship, perhaps by means of heat signature, hiding in the asteroid belt?"
Dr. Jaymie Matthews, a professor of physics and astronomy at the University of British Columbia gave this a lot of thought, and came up with the answer: it's possible, but only if the spaceship was a big as an asteroid.
