Top 5 things you need to survive on Mars
There's been a lot of talk lately about getting humans to Mars. Just last week, U.S. President Obama reaffirmed that humans will go to the Red Planet in the 2030s. SpaceX's Elon Musk ultimately envisions a future city of millions on Mars. And he thinks the price tag to go could eventually be as low as $200,000 U.S. dollars.
Scientists around the world are already thinking ahead towards future manned missions. And now, so can you. Scientists from Monash University in Australia have created the world's first online course designed to teach those who sign up how to live on Mars.
So assuming we'll have everything we need to survive there short term, the instructors of the online course, Dr. Tina Overton, professor of chemistry and Dr Jasmina Lazendic-Galloway, lecturer in astronomy, help us sort out "The top 5 things you need to survive on Mars."
