Tyrannosaurs Roamed in Packs
A Tyrannosaur trackway discovery in B.C. suggests the great dinosaur predators moved in groups. Trackways, or footprints of the giant Tyrannosaurs that lived over 70 million years ago, are rare. That's why paleontologists - including Dr. Richard McCrae from the Peace Region Paleontology Research Centre in Tumbler Ridge, B.C. - were so excited to stumble upon three Tyrannosaur trackways in their region several years ago. Research has determined that the trackways were made by three Tyrannosaurs walking in the same direction, at the same time, as a group. The degree of preservation provides clues about how they walked, their size and their age. Although it had been hypothesized in the past, this is the first evidence to support the idea that they roamed in packs.
