A study of image search results for various jobs reveals that women are often underrepresented and portrayed in stereotypical ways.
There's new research about how genders are represented in image search results for occupations. One of the researchers is Cynthia Matuszek, a professor of Computer Science at University of Maryland Baltimore County. She explores how images reflecting various jobs might influence our perceptions about those occupation, and how they can reflect bias and perpetuate gender stereotypes.
