Songstress for solidarity: Ronnie Gilbert of the Weavers
Michael's interview from 1994 with Ronnie Gilbert of The Weavers, about her one-woman play, "Mother Jones".
Ronnie Gilbert, the only female member of The Weavers and a key figure in the folk revival of the 50s and 60s, died this week.
In the early 1990s, Ronnie Gilbert performed her own one-woman show in regional theaters across the United States. It was about the life of Mary Harris, the labour organizer known as Mother Jones. Michael Enright talked to her about that show - and about Mary Harris - on As It Happens in 1994, and we have posted that interview for you.
