A number of weeks ago, Michael had the pleasure of interviewing the American writer Richard Ford on stage at Montreal's Grande Bibliothèque. Ford was in Montreal to receive the Blue Metropolis Literary Festival's most prestigious award, the Literary Grand Prix.
Richard Ford is the author of many books, including the Bascombe novels — The Sportswriter and its sequels; Independence Day, the first novel to win both the Pulitzer Prize and the PEN/Faulkner Award; and The Lay of the Land.
His most recent novel, Canada, won the Prix Fémina Étranger in France.
