Your opinion on expat voting rights

Last week, we heard two perspectives on whether expatriate Canadians should be allowed to vote. This week, we hear your reaction.

On last week's program, we heard two perspectives on whether long-term Canadian expatriates should be able to vote in Canadian Elections.

Norman Spector argued against the right for long term expats to vote. He's a former Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Mulroney, and a former ambassador to Israel and the Palestinian Territories. He says people's allegiances may be split if they live outside the country.

Leonid Sirota is a Doctoral student in law at New York University and author of the blog Double Aspect. He argued that rights should be based only on citizenship, not location or voting priorities.

We've got plenty of your feedback to share. We also speak with an Israeli citizen living in Canada who's given up on voting in Israeli elections, and wants to be able to vote in Canada.
