Wounded by war, but not necessarily in battle. A Canadian doctor brings us stories from Syria, where she spent three months treating patients inside a makeshift hospital. In this interview, MSF's Anne Marie Pegg describes a suffering population and a healthcare system that has all but collapsed.

Canadian doctor Anne Marie Pegg back from Syria

We started this segment with some sound from inside a makeshift hospital in Syria. It's set up discreetly in the northwestern province of Idlib. In a war-ravaged country, this is where the injured seek refuge.

The hospital is run by Medecins Sans Frontieres ... also known as MSF - Doctors Without Borders. Anne Marie Pegg has just returned from three months working at that hospital. She's a family doctor in Yellowknife, but her work with MSF has put her face to face with some of the world's most pressing medical emergencies. She's been to Ethiopia, Haiti, Pakistan, and now, Syria.
