'Got Milked?' author Alissa Hamilton wants dairy food group gone
For households across the country, the answer to 'Got Milk?' is a simple "yes, of course!"
Milk has been a dietary staple for as long as... seemingly forever.
And it comes recommended by the Canada Food Guide.
But its place at the table is being questioned more often.
Alissa Hamilton is the author of "Got Milked?: What You Don't Know About Dairy, The Truth About Calcium, and Why You'll Thrive Without Milk". She joined us in Toronto.
Douglas Goff is a professor in the Department of Food Sciences at the University of Guelph. He joined us from Guelph, Ontario.
We did request input from the Dairy Farmers of Canada, but they did not get back to us.
