Today on The Current

  • As countries and politicians fight to keep migrants from crossing their borders, we talk to one woman who is fighting to help those who are fleeing. On International Migrants Day, the head of Médecins Sans Frontières reflects on the issues facing migrants from Libya to Mexico.
  • There's magic in the air for Montreal Expos fans, after a recent study concluded the conditions are ripe for major league baseball's return to the city. We talk with the man leading the charge behind the team's comeback, about just how possible it is.
  • After experiencing abuse so many times, Patty Stonefish turned to martial arts. Now, she's arming other Indigenous women with self-love and empowerment through self-defence. We visit one of her workshops to see how she's helping women heal.
  • And lastly, we take a look back at a significant milestone in the ballet world this year, when one of the biggest manufacturers of traditional pointe shoes announced it would begin selling them in brown and bronze for dancers of colour.
