Our national identity: exploring what it means to be Canadian

When comedy writer Rob Cohen discovered how many people outside of Canada had no idea what made the country tick, he wondered if he really knew either. So he set out to find out in his documentary "Being Canadian".

How could people around the world really have a consensus of what it means to be Canadian... if the question even eludes Canadians?

Well, comedy writer Rob Cohen set out to find some answers.

The Canadian normally resides stateside, where he's written for such shows as The Simpsons and Saturday Night Live, but he returned to the Great White North for this project.

And the final result is the documentary "Being Canadian". It premiered at Toronto's Hot Docs Festival in April, and that was when Rob Cohen joined us in studio.

William Shatner, Rush, and Will Arnett were among the famous Canadians interviewed by Cohen for the film:
