Several explosions have hit the Brussels airport and metro system about an hour a part, at the height of the morning commute. The attack has left more than 26 dead.

The blasts come just days after Salah Abdeslam, the main fugitive in the Paris attacks, was seized in Brussels.

The Current reached Georg von Harrach, a Europe-based journalist in Brussels to tell us more about the blasts and if there's a link to the Paris attacks.

Brussels seems to, at the moment, be a hot bed for this kind of activity. These attacks really repeat that that's still a problem here in Belgium.- Georg von Harrach, journalist in Brussels on recent airport, subway explosions
