Sprinter Audrey Leduc wins record-breaking gold in women's 100m at Canada Summer Games
Leduc also helps Team Quebec capture gold, set record in 4x100 women's relay
Quebec's Audrey Leduc broke the women's 100-metre sprint record Friday en route to gold at the Canada Games.
Leduc ran 11.55 seconds to take down Cindy Moore's record of 11.56 from 1977.
In another record-breaking effort, the Leduc-led Team Quebec won a gold medal in the 4x100 women's relay with a time of 44.74 seconds, besting the previous mark set by B.C. in 1993.

—@AthleticsCanadaOntario's Eliezer Adjibi added to a strong showing in athletics, breaking the Canada Games record in the men's 100-metre sprint to strike gold with a time of 10.32 seconds, surpassing the previous record of 10.38 held by Nathan Taylor (2001) and Karson Kowalchuk (2017).
World 4x100 gold medallist Jerome Blake had also run 10:38 in 2017, but placed second to Kowalchuk by thousandths of a second.
Adjibi also added 4x100 relay gold as Ontario topped the podium with a time of 40.52 seconds.
Medal standings
Ontario added 23 medals on Friday, 12 of them gold, to its Games-leading total of 155 medals, including 65 gold. Quebec maintained its place in second, adding 16 podium finishes and eight golds to its 115 medals.
B.C. (98 total, 24 golds) and Alberta (87 overall, 29 golds) sit in third and fourth in the medal standings.
