Game 5 of the American League Division Series was one for the history books.

Not only did the Blue Jays win and advance to the AL Championship Series for the first time in 22 years, the game also included a protest, raining beer cans and a huge bat flip. And that was only the seventh inning.

We compiled the top social moments from the game, as well as some fan reaction from Team Canada athletes who were proud to cheer for the Blue Jays, Canada's team.

1. Chris Colabello is head over heels

Not once, but twice.

First with this swing and a miss.

And then with his graceful celebration of the Blue Jays win.

2. Kevin Pillar is probably Superman

His diving catch was so good he even received praise from Canadian Olympic diver Roseline Filion.

Let's just say Kevin Pillar really knows how to make his mark.

3. Delino Deshields needed a shield

His bunt didn't really go as planned and he ended up with a bat to the face.

Canadian record holder for men's steeplechase Matt Hughes had a bit of a chirp for the Texas Ranger.

4. Edwin Encarnacion ties it up in the 6th (and in the six)

Canadian Olympic sprint kayaker Adam van Koeverden is all about #Edwing.

5. The 53-minute seventh inning

Jays fans were devastated when a freak play caused a free run for Texas, giving them a 3-2 lead over Toronto.

Rougned Odor was on third as Shin-Soo Choo was up to bat. Catcher Russell Martin went to throw the ball back to the pitcher, but accidentally hit Choo's bat and the ball was sent flying.

Odor seized his moment and ran home. The play was originally called dead by the umpire, but was later counted after review.

Fans were not happy. Beer cans were raining dangerously from the stands.

Pan Am gold medal race walker Evan Dunfee sarcastically tweeted about the impending Toronto riot, due to the protested call.

Let's just say it was a much needed seventh-inning stretch.

6. In the 7th, Jose Bautista shows us why he's called Joey Bats

With two on base, Jose Bautista hit a big home run.

It was so big that Olympic bobsledder Jesse Lumsden heard it a few provinces away.

7. Blue Jays win, celebrate with fans and Canada goes crazy

The Blue Jays took their locker room champagne shower celebration to the fans.

And fans across Canada celebrated the team!

As did Team Canada athletes, including sprinter and Torontonian Andre De Grasse.

And Canadian boxing champion Mandy Bujold, who summed up the Blue Jays in three hashtags.

The Blue Jays face the Kansas City Royals for game 1 of the seven-game ALCS on Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET. Will you be watching?
