Rickie Weeks's injured-filled season continued at the worst time with his early exit from Game 3 of a National League Division Series.

The Milwaukee Brewers second baseman was forced to leave after the third inning Saturday night with a sprained knee sustained when he appeared to jam his knee while batting in the previous frame.

Weeks left the field at Miller Park in Milwaukee limping, but came out to play defence in the top of the third.

However, he didn't bat in the bottom half, and was replaced by Craig Counsell when the Brewers took the field for the fourth inning.

Weeks is 0-for-4 in the series against Philadelphia, which carried a 2-0 lead into Saturday's contest.

Weeks also had an error in the first game, dropping a routine throw while covering first base.

He missed 14 games during the regular season with knee and thumb injuries.
