The Toronto Blue Jays put infielder John McDonald on the 15-day disabled list after their 4-2 win over the Chicago White Sox on Friday with a right hamstring strain and recalled infielder Mike McCoy from triple-A Las Vegas.

McDonald's hamstring has been nagging the versatile infielder and manager John Farrell said he came out of a game in Minnesota because of it about two weeks ago.

The problem became more severe during Thursday's 3-1 loss to the White Sox but Farrell said it was not the reason behind McDonald's throwing error that led to two unearned runs in the ninth. McDonald did not play on Friday.

The error was McDonald's first of the season. He is batting .190 with two homers and 11 RBIs in 36 games. McCoy has played 20 games with Toronto this season and is batting .238 with one homer and two RBIs.
