Next matchup in Round 1: Kadeisha Buchanan wins Young Player Award at Women's World Cup vs. wheelchair rugby team's Parapan Am gold
After a fierce performance at the Women's World Cup this summer, Canadian Kadeisha Buchanan was awarded the Young Player Award in part for her stellar defensive play.
Despite Canada's undesirable eighth-place finish on home soil, Buchanan's award allowed the country to walk away from the World Cup with some success. Not to mention the award highlighted Buchanan's rise as one of the faces of Canadian women's soccer.
Buchanan's award goes up against the Canadian wheelchair rugby team's gold-medal win at the Toronto Parapan Am Games that qualified them for the Rio Paralympics.
Anyone who has ever watched a wheelchair rugby game knows the intensity of the sport, so you can only imagine how the atmosphere was magnified when Canada defeated the longtime rival U.S. in double overtime.
Vote below for which moment you think was best.
