Als' Marc Trestman finalist for Bears' next coach: report
Montreal sideline boss to get 2nd interview
Marc Trestman will interview a second time for the Chicago Bears' head coaching job.
ESPN, citing sources, reported the Bears will conduct a second interview with Trestman, head coach of the CFL's Montreal Alouettes.
Last week it was reported that Trestman would be named the Bears coach, according to Super Bowl winning coach Jimmy Johnson.
Johnson, now an NFL studio analyst for Fox, tweeted early Friday: ""Looks like 2 of my guys getting NFL jobs..Chud Cleveland and my QB coach at U Trestman to Chicago."
Trestman was a quarterbacks coach in Johnson's regime at the University of Miami in the early 1980s.
Johnson did adjust his comments: "I tweeted this morning ‘It LOOKS like 2 of my guys were getting NFL jobs not that Trestman got it.’"
Seattle offensive co-ordinator Darrell Bevell will also interview a second time.
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Bevell and defensive co-ordinator Gus Bradley were "heading toward second interviews." Bradley is in the running for the Philadelphia Eagles' job.
Bevell just finished his second season as Seattle's offensive co-ordinator and drew high praise for his work with rookie quarterback Russell Wilson. He also served as Minnesota's co-ordinator from 2006-10 and was an assistant in Green Bay before that, working with Brett Favre.
The Bears, who declined comment, are looking to replace the fired Lovie Smith.
