O'Shea remains with Argos

The Toronto Argonauts re-signed defensive captain Mike O'Shea on Wednesday, giving the CFL team its entire starting defence from last season.

One of the best defences in the CFL will have its leader back.

Standout linebacker Mike O'Shea re-signed with the Toronto Argonauts Wednesday, meaning the Argos will have its entire starting defence back from the 2004-05 season.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"It is always great to have your leader back with you," said defensive co-ordinator Rich Stubler. "He plays and leads by example."

O'Shea captained one of the league's best defences last season and finished the year with 76 tackles and one forced fumble.

O'Shea, a member of the Argos' 2004 Grey Cup championship team, is a four-time East Division all-star. The 13-year CFL veteran has also been a league all-star as well as the CFL's Outstanding Canadian.

"Obviously, I am very excited to be rooted as an Argo in the middle of my career," O'Shea said in a release.
