Before Montreal Canadiens star goaltender Carey Price showed off his lighter side to a kid with an impromptu selfie, there was a meeting with Trent Leon that gave the B.C., boy a thrill of a lifetime.

The meeting got Price, who was born in Anahim Lake, B.C., choked up.

Price launched two new breakfast club programs at local schools in his hometown last year.

A chosen representative of Anahim Lake Elementary-Junior Secondary School, Trent was flown business class to Montreal on Jan. 18 as part of the Breakfast Club of Canada program in partnership with the Air Canada Foundation.

The next day, Trent met Price — his idol.

The two exchanged gifts in the dressing room at the Canadiens' training centre.

Trent got a chance to shoot a few pucks on Price, then surprised the Habs superstar with written cards from the children of the Anahim Lake school.

The cards contained well wishes and thank you notes to Price, who got emotional when he turned to Trent and said, “thanks buddy, that means a lot to me.”
