Pittsburgh goalie tapes over former teammate's name on mask
Consider it the hockey equivalent of "unfriending."
Pittsburgh goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury taped over Matt Niskanen's name on his goalie mask that honours his favourite teammates past and present, socially shaming the Washington Capitals defenceman for injuring his pal, Sidney Crosby.
Niskanen, who played for the Penguins from 2010-14, became persona non-grata after his cross-check knocked Fleury's current teammate Crosby out of Games 3 and 4 with a concussion, the fourth of his career. There is no word on when the Pittsburgh captain will return.
