Senators laugh their way to win over Habs

The Ottawa Senators weren't shy about celebrating a pair of goals in the first period of an eventual 5-1 victory in Game 5 against the Montreal Canadiens on Friday.

Ottawa celebrated early and often

Things started off great for the Ottawa Senators in Game 5 against the Montreal Canadians at Bell Centre and they were loving every minute of it.

The fans in Montreal probably didn't appreciate it as much in what amounted to a 5-1 victory for the visitors.

Bobby Ryan wasn't exactly trying to contain his excitement after opening the scoring to give the Senators a 1-0 lead.

When Patrick Wiercioch doubled the lead for Ottawa, he appeared to be channeling his inner Michael Jordan with his goal celebration.

In the second period, Erik Karlsson added to Montreal's misery by staking Ottawa to a 3-0 advantage with a power-play goal on a slap shot from the point and he couldn't resist giving the crowd a little wink.

Defenceman Tom Gilbert got one back for Montreal early in the third period with a big help by teammate Dale Wiese's screen of Senators goaltender Craig Anderson.

Erik Condra scored and Ryan added his second goal of the game before the night was done.
